youkokurama.com ::
site
Born July 2000. ^_^ Well... duh, this is a Kurama fansite.More prone to the
personal side of things tho. I've noticed a good number of Kurama shrines out
there and most were pretty much alike besides the fanstuff sections. I wanted
to make a different Kurama site. Thus, you do notice the lack of official things
around my site, especially images. I try to keep usage of official stuff to
a minimum unless they're really rare. (like rare pics and media files). Besides,
I want it to be unique. It's mine and mine only. So I put a lot of my stuff
on it too... which includes random blabs and what I think of Kurama and my views
of YYH.
Honestly, I'm a lazy bum. I can't spend a lot of time digging for official pics
and info ... (hunterxhunter.net
is my first attempt at actually searching for official info!). A personal fansite
is definitely my cup of tea. ^^
domain
youkokurama.com (aka yk.com) was first registered in ... er... o.o I forget.
1999? I think so, a little while before the site was born. I first got it through
Namezero.com, a fabulous
service in my opinion even tho some people loathe it coz they provide free domains.
They do, but they only do it for a year ... then they make you pay. I think
it's a great thing... they give you feeling and the preparation to own a domain.
To see if you like the feel of it and if you really need it. Of course, some
do abuse the service... but well... the world isn't perfect.
After a year of free service, I decided to buy the domain. So I registered for
a paid service through Namezero. Great service, tho on the downside, they don't
host your site (not yet back then anyway) but you need to redirect your site.
So after a year of the paid service and me looking around for a local registrar
and webhost... I change registrars (Pacific Cyber Business Systems Ltd) and
had my site hosted on a paid server (Tsimtung.com). Tsimtung is a good host
indeed, if not a little expensive. But they're nice people.
Anyway... I don't think I have to explain why I registered youkokurama.com,
ne? ^_^ Oh, right... why not Kurama.com/Kurama.net/Kurama.org? Kurama.com was
then for sale.. at a REALLY high price. So ... nah. Kurama.net was owned by
a Japanese Kurama fan... once gone, but now back again! (蔵りす☆わ〜くす)Kurama.org...
well... Actually, I wanted something unique. (me and my uniqueness streak :P)
.... so... yeah, yk.com. ^_^;
